Ana is one of our jewellery designers at Blush. Originally from Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), she has been living in Amsterdam for the past three years. Her creativity, warmth, and passion for jewellery shine through in every piece she helps bring to life. In this interview, Ana shares her personal journey, from the first sketch to the final jewel - and what inspires her most in her work.

Can you walk us through the design process, from initial concept to final creation?
It’s an organic process. Each piece has its own story, its own rhythm - a journey that begins with a close connection to Blush's clients, always attentive to their suggestions and ideas. While we stay aware of current trends, our focus remains on preserving the brand’s unique identity. From these initial insights, the first hand-drawn sketches begin to take shape. Once aligned with our product development team, we move forward with a blend of 3D modeling and watercolor illustrations to bring the designs to life. The selected concepts are then carefully transformed into prototypes - the first samples. With those in hand, we begin refining: selecting what truly belongs in the collection and enhancing pieces that need further development.

What are your favorite aspects of your role as a jewellery designer at Blush?
I enjoy the challenge of translating new ideas into a classic, timeless style - proposing colors and shapes while always staying true to Blush’s personality.
I also really appreciate the day-to-day at the company. The people at Blush make the brand what it is, and this is inspiring. There’s a genuine care behind each detail, and I feel that energy from start to finish in every project we work on.

Is there a particular piece from a recent collection that holds special meaning for you?
Yes - the Ring 1267YZI from our Spring Summer 2025 collection. It was one of the first designs I developed with the Blush team, so it has a special place in my heart. I love how the stones, in different sizes, are arranged in an asymmetric, almost spontaneous way. It feels free and full of personality.

What role do you believe jewellery plays in people’s lives, and how do you aim to reflect that in your designs?
Jewellery is deeply personal. It’s something we carry through life, often becoming a part of us. It holds memories, meaning, and emotion. I love the idea of creating something that might last for generations.

How do you see the future of Blush’s designs evolving over time?
In a world where everything moves so fast, my hope is that Blush continues to create designs that resist the rush - pieces that remain timeless and meaningful.
I want our jewellery to keep marking important moments in people’s lives, and to connect deeply with those who share our values and vision as a brand.
