Necklace Extensions

You use a chain Extension when you find that a Necklace falls just a little too short. For example, with a higher neckline, combining multiple necklaces or when you want more space around your neck. It can also come in handy when you want a necklace to match a specific outfit. It gives you more flexibility in how you wear your necklace, making it a very versatile item to have in your jewelry collection.

You confirm the Extension to the clasp of your chain by the Lobster Claw Clasp of the Necklace hook to the eyelet of the extension. Next, use the clasp of the Extension yourself to fasten the chain around your neck. Within a few seconds, you'll be wearing your necklace just a little longer that way.

In our collection you will find 3 cm and 8 cm extension pieces. This gives enough extra length to make a necklace fall differently without being too long. For many Necklaces one of these two options is exactly the difference needed to wear it comfortably. It's a subtle adjustment with visible effect.

Our Necklace extension pieces are made of 14 karat gold. As a result, they match our necklaces well in both color and finish. You will hardly notice any difference between the original necklace and the Extension. This creates a whole that looks neat and consistent. In addition, you can choose from different gold colors to better match your white gold chain or yellow gold chain. 

Most extension pieces fit chains with a standard Lobster Claw Clasp. It is important, however, that the clasp and eyelet of your chain fit snugly on the extender. With very fine or just thicker necklaces, the fit may be slightly different. We therefore recommend checking this before combining.

Yes, when it Extension properly attached, the chain stays securely in place. The clasps are designed to fit snugly together and not come off easily. The extra piece of chain moves with the Necklace, which maintains wearing comfort. Thus, you hardly notice that you have a Extension used.

The Extension sits at the back of your neck and is usually not visible while wearing it. Only when you raise your hair or wear an open back can the piece of chain be visible. Because it is made of the same material as your necklace, it is not distractingly noticeable. It remains a subtle addition.

It is technically possible to combine multiple extension pieces, but we usually do not recommend this. The chain may then become less stable and fall differently than intended. One Extension of 3 cm or 8 cm is often sufficient to achieve the desired effect. Thus, the wearing comfort remains optimal.
